Candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) based on factors such as age, education, language ability and work experience.
Understanding your eligibility, your CRS score and the documents required at each stage helps you prepare a stronger, more complete application.

Requirements depend on which of the three federal programs — Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Trades — you qualify under. We review your education, work experience and language results to confirm which applies to you.
Your CRS score is based on factors including age, education, language ability, work experience and, where applicable, a spouse or partner's factors and provincial nomination. We assess this as part of your consultation.
Commonly required documents include language test results, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for education outside Canada, and proof of work experience. Exact requirements depend on your profile and program.
